The same loop, five times
Enter a field I have no credential in. Teach myself the fundamentals faster than the formal path allows. Pass the gate anyway. Outperform inside the role until the promotion is forced. Leave when the learning curve flattens.
Data
BBA holder in 2015. Self-taught R and Python. Cleared the entrance exam for a postgraduate data-science programme that required a B.Tech, and got in without one.
Operations
Joined Eswasthya as an intern. Management-level role in six months.
Leadership
Joined The Beer Store. Supervisor in six months, running a team of 18 - every one of them senior to me.
Enterprise
Analyst to senior analyst at TELUS Health in three years, on financially sensitive enterprise portfolios. The fastest in the team's record; the previous best was four.
Systems
Three to four years and about $50,000 of my own money into AI research and development. This studio is what it bought.
The rule
I left four programmes. I kept five degrees.
Each one left on purpose, the moment it stopped teaching me faster than I could teach myself. A bachelor's, four postgraduate qualifications, and still studying. Chase the competency; drop the credential when it stops paying for itself.

When I see mediocre work now, I read it in four steps. That sequence is the only thing I am genuinely expert at. Everything else was learned to make it useful.
